Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves

  • 1/2 cucumber, peeled and chopped

  • 1/2 green apple, cored and chopped

  • 1/2 ripe avocado

  • 1/2 kiwi (optional)

  • 1/2 cup of green grapes (optional)

  • 1/2 lime, juiced

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any non-dairy milk of your choice)

  • 1/2 cup cold water

  • 1 knob of ginger

  • Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Wash the fresh spinach leaves thoroughly.

  2. Peel and chop the cucumber, and core and chop the green apple.

  3. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh.

  4. Juice the lime to get fresh lime juice.

  5. In a blender, combine the fresh spinach leaves, chopped cucumber, chopped green apple, avocado, lime juice, chia seeds, unsweetened almond milk, and cold water.

  6. Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. If you prefer a colder smoothie, you can add a few ice cubes and blend again.

  7. Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness if needed. If it’s not sweet enough for your liking, you can add a small amount of honey, natural sweetener or 1/2 kiwi flesh and or 1/2 cup of green grapes. However, keep in mind that the goal is to keep the smoothie low in sugar, so use sweeteners sparingly.

  8. Pour the green smoothie into a glass and serve immediately.

Enjoy your delicious and nutritious green smoothie that’s low in sugar and packed with nutrients! Feel free to customize it with other greens like kale or add a dash of cinnamon or ginger for extra flavor.
