Fractured Masculinity

In the realm where shadows dwell,

A tale unfolds that few will tell.

Of men who carry burdens deep,

Yet hide the pain they often keep.

With stoic hearts and silent cries,

They face the world, wearing a guise.

In bravado’s hold, their souls confined,

The agony wrapped within their mind.

From boyhood dreams to men in chains,

They learn to hide their inner pains.

A culture steeped in what they’ve learned,

Leaves wounds unspoken, unturned.

Afraid to share, to cry, to grieve,

A legacy they can’t relieve.

The hurts they bear, they carry alone,

In silence, their hearts deeply groan.

In the echo of their silent scream,

Lies shattered hopes and broken dreams.

For the cycle of pain continues on,

A legacy passed from son to son.

But in the depths where anguish lies,

Hope whispers softly, gently tries.

To break the chains, to heal the heart,

To free the soul, make a fresh start.

For men hurting men is a grievous sight,

A tale of strength that’s lost its light.

Yet in the quiet and in the dim,

There’s hope for healing to begin.
